2014 Art & Virtue Workshops:
Teachers enjoyed fun and engaging lessons for any classroom. They were encouraged to tune in to their curiosity and awareness – all with simply a smile! The finished mural was a visual reminder of the virtues of kindness and joy. This workshop came with a guarantee that all would leave with a smile!
Based on the 1999 Letter to Artists, by Saint John Paul II, the joy of art-making became an outward expression of the joy we experience in God’s creation. Paper came to life in sculptures that decorated the closing ceremony at the 2014 VBRD Summer Institute. Teachers were inspired to integrate virtue-based themes into lessons they develop for students in a variety of activities.
